Wednesday was a good weather day and we decided to stay on the mooring at Nelsons Bay. John and Geoff went walking for a few hours and I pottered around the boat. Our initial plan for today was to sail to Cape Hawke Harbour (Forster) but as normal plans evolved and over coffee and cake on "Salty Lady" we decided to leave at 0100 and make the run to Laurieton. This is a run of about 80 miles and as I write this we are abeam of Cape Hawke and sailing in beautiful conditions.
We crossed the bar into Camden Haven without mishap after a great days sailing up the coast. It was one of those not so often days of fair winds from the correct direction, flat seas and perfect weather. I only saw 1 whale this leg. We motored up the river and have anchored at Laurieton in the shadow of a large mountain which we plan to walk to the top of tomorrow. We will be here a couple of days I would think. All going well with the crew however as the news on the stock
market continues to become more depressing we have had to harness John to the boat to stop him jumping overboard. Those of you who know John would not be surprised that when he and Geoff were buying 2 pies the other day he bargained with the poor girl behind the counter to reduce the price of 2 sauce potions from 60 cents to 50!!!

The weather has improved a bit.
We spent a night at Lockhart in NSW and froze. The next night at Shepparton was better and only three degrees. Geoff has the better deal on the water. Haven't seen any emus and are now in Kyneton and enjoying the resort before we leave to go camping next Friday. Regards
Tony and Jan
